STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eighteen

 

AN ACT relative to venue in child protection actions.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  Venue; Child Protection Hearings.  Amend RSA 169-C:5 to read as follows:

169-:5  Venue.

I.  Proceedings under this chapter [may] shall be originated in the judicial district in which the child is found or resides.

II.  [By the court, upon its own motion, or that of any party,] Proceedings under this chapter may, upon notice and acceptance, be transferred to another court [as the interests of justice or convenience of the parties require] if requested by a parent of the child.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
