AN ACT relative to establishing an advisory group to examine potential funding sources for career and technical education (CTE) construction and renovation.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Four

 

AN ACT relative to establishing an advisory group to examine potential funding sources for career and technical education (CTE) construction and renovation.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

293:1  Career and Technical Education Advisory Group Established.

I.  There is established an advisory group to study statutes, administrative rules, and current and possible funding sources for career and technical education (CTE) construction and renovation.

II.  The members of the advisory group shall be appointed by the commissioner of education and include as follows:

(a) The state director for CTE.

(b)  The commissioner of education, or designee.

(c)  The chancellor of the community college system of New Hampshire (CCSNH), or designee.

(d)  Three regional CTE directors.

(e)  A president of a CCSNH college, or designee.

(f)  Two district level administrators. Such administrators include, but are not limited to, superintendents, principals, and business administrators.

(g)  Two representatives of business and industry.

III.  The advisory group shall study the feasibility of joint or co-located CTE programs with the CCSNH and New Hampshire high school CTE programs associated with regional CTE centers.

IV.  The members of the advisory group shall elect a chairperson from among the members.  The first meeting of the advisory group shall be called by the commissioner of education.  The first meeting of the advisory group shall be held within 45 days of the effective date of this section.  Four members of the advisory group shall constitute a quorum.

V.  The advisory group shall report its findings and any recommendations for proposed legislation to the commissioner of education, chair of the house education committee, chair of the senate education committee, chair of the capital budget committee, president of the senate, the speaker of the house of representatives, the senate clerk, the house clerk, the governor, and the state library on or before May 30, 2025.

293:2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
