STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty-Six
AN ACT relative to qualifications to practice acupuncture.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Definition of NADA Training. Amend RSA 328-G:2, XII to read as follows:
XII. "NADA training" means the standardized auricular acupuncture protocol developed by NADA [that is in effect on July 1, 2017].
2 New Subparagraph; Board of Acupuncture Licensing; Members. Amend RSA 328-G:3, I by inserting after subparagraph (b) the following new subparagraph:
(c) One certified acupuncture detoxification specialist, appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of the council.
3 Acupuncture. Amend RSA 328-G:9, II(e)(1) to read as follows:
(e)(1) Has earned [a baccalaureate,] an associate's degree or a minimum of 60 credit hours at an accredited postsecondary educational institution, or has earned a registered nurse[,] or physician associate degree from an accredited institution, and has a current, valid license to practice acupuncture from another state whose requirements are substantially equal to or exceed the requirements of RSA 328-G:9, II; or
4 Certified Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist. Amend RSA 328-G:9-a, II(b) to read as follows:
(b) "General supervision" shall be provided by site visit, phone, or other electronic means during business hours with at least 2 site visits per year, during the first 2 years of certification, by a licensed acupuncturist currently licensed in New Hampshire pursuant to RSA 328-G:9. The supervising licensed acupuncturist shall not be required to be on site for direction and supervision, but shall be available at least by telecommunications.
5 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
