STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty-Six

 

AN ACT relative to notice and update requirements regarding state employee investigations.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Section; Department of Administrative Services; Personnel; Suspension Notice and Investigation Updates.  Amend RSA 21-I by inserting after section 42 the following new section:

21-I:42-a  Suspension Notice and Investigation Updates.  If any state employee is suspended with pay from duty, they shall receive written notice detailing the reasons for the suspension within 7 days of the suspension date.  The suspended employee shall be provided with periodic updates regarding the status of the investigation every 90 days until a final decision is made.  This section shall not apply to employees covered under collective bargaining agreements.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 90 days after its passage.
